# FIELD ASSIGNMENT

## 1. Difference Between an Anointed Person and a Skillful Person in Ministry

An anointed person is someone empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry out spiritual assignments with divine authority and impact (Acts 10:38). The anointing produces supernatural results such as conviction, transformation, and spiritual breakthroughs in the lives of people. According to the Anointing Textbook, it is the anointing that makes ministry effective and life-changing.

A skillful person, however, is one who has developed abilities through learning, training, and consistent practice (Psalm 78:72). These skills include preaching, leadership, communication, and administration, which help ensure excellence and order in ministry. Skill enhances how ministry is carried out but does not replace spiritual power.

Therefore, effective ministry requires both anointing and skill. The anointing provides spiritual power, while skill provides structure, clarity, and excellence. A minister who combines both becomes more impactful and balanced in ministry.

## 2. What Blessed Me About Each Skill

### I. Bible Memorisation

Bible memorisation blessed me because it helps me store the Word of God in my heart (Psalm 119:11). I learned from Luke 4 that Jesus used memorised scriptures to overcome temptation, showing the importance of knowing the Word. The BMCDR notes taught me that a minister must always be full of the Word to minister effectively. This has encouraged me to memorise scriptures daily for spiritual strength and effective ministry.

### II. Character Development

I learned that character is shaped by temperament, upbringing, and the Word of God. What blessed me is that ministry is sustained by character, not just spiritual gifts (Proverbs 22:1). From Loyalty and Disloyalty, I understood that many people fall in ministry because of poor character. This has challenged me to allow the Word of God to transform my life daily (2 Timothy 3:16).

### III. Preaching Skills

I learned that preaching requires both preparation and spiritual empowerment (2 Timothy 4:2). It blessed me to understand that listening to messages and studying improves delivery and understanding. From the Anointing Textbook, I learned that preaching must carry both power and clarity. This has encouraged me to combine prayer and study to become an effective preacher.

### IV. Listening Skills

I learned that listening is essential for spiritual growth (James 1:19). It blessed me to understand that how well I listen determines how much I receive. The BMCDR notes taught me practical ways to improve listening, such as staying focused and using earphones. This has helped me become more attentive during teachings and spiritual instructions.

### V. Leadership Skills

I learned that leadership is both an art and a science that must be developed. From The Art and Science of Leadership, I understood that leadership can be learned through study and practice. It blessed me to see that leadership involves vision, guidance, and responsibility (Proverbs 11:14). This has inspired me to intentionally develop myself as a leader.

### VI. Reading Skills

I learned that reading is essential for growth and effective leadership (1 Timothy 4:13). The statement “if you cannot read, you cannot lead” deeply impacted me. From the BMCDR notes, I developed a stronger habit of reading regularly. This has helped me increase my knowledge and improve my understanding of ministry.

### VII. Offering Taking Skills

I learned that offering taking is an important part of church growth (Malachi 3:10). It blessed me to understand that it is not just about money but about teaching people the principle of giving. From the Church Growth Textbook, I learned the importance of proper financial management in ministry. This has helped me see offering time as a meaningful and spiritual responsibility.

### VIII. Pastoral/Shepherding Skills

I learned that a pastor must care for and guide the flock (John 10:11). It blessed me to understand that ministry is about people, not just preaching. From The Art of Shepherding, I learned the importance of nurturing, guiding, and supporting members. This has helped me develop a heart of love, patience, and responsibility toward others.

### IX. Communication Skills

I learned that communication is essential for effective ministry (Habakkuk 2:2). It blessed me to understand that poor communication can destroy leadership and relationships. From the BMCDR notes, I learned the importance of communicating continuously and clearly. This has helped me improve how I relate with both leaders and church members.

### X. Waiting on God Skills

I learned that waiting on God builds spiritual strength and dependence on Him (Isaiah 40:31). It blessed me to understand the importance of prayer and fasting in ministry. From the Essential Charismatic Doctrine, I learned that spiritual power comes from God’s presence. This has encouraged me to spend more consistent and intentional time with God daily.

## 3. Skill I Need to Work On and Why

The skill I need to work on the most is waiting on God. Although I understand its importance, I have not been as consistent as I should be in prayer and fasting. Acts 6:4 teaches that we must give ourselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the Word.

Without waiting on God, ministry can become dry and ineffective because the anointing flows from time spent in God’s presence, as taught in the Anointing Textbook. Strengthening this area will enhance every other skill I am developing. Therefore, I need to be more disciplined and intentional in setting aside time daily to seek God.
