How to combat negative thoughts and emotions.

1. You should turn towards Allah and start contemplating Quran translation. Whichever page you open, just start reading it with focus. It will shift your mind from negative emotions such as rage, envy , or jealousy to calmness.

2. You should ponder the incident from different angles. Either that person was doing so intentionally to hurt you or not. If he was doing intentionally, was he in a normal state of mind or combating his own grief. If he had done something unintentionally, perhaps the person was innocent or unaware of his or her feelings. Take it lightly and let it go of your mind.

3. If the event proved itself negative, try to think about the positive aspects of that person. What good has he done to you, and how many times! Is overall analysis making a good image of that person. If yes, then congratulations, you won the battle.

4. After making all efforts, if the person is still at fault, then think about forgiving , and you'll get rewarded by Allah.

5. Whenever you frequently think about this point and it sticks to your mind, never declare yourself a victim. Instead, put yourself at higher rank in morality and feel proud of it.

Age doesn't make you able to be respected, but your magnanimity ( اعلی ظرفی )۔
